Doors as tables, desks as lamps, and Teddy Bear as guard dog: it's all part of the fun at "Flea Market to Fabulous," where salvaging something old and giving it a reason to live again as something fresh and unexpected is, well, expected.  Some people might call it recycling.  Owner Jodi Cole calls it "repurposing."

From Flea Market to Fabulous, at the corner of Spring and Edwards, has recently opened a second building, Too! Fabulous is just south of the first building.  Cole says the response has been amazing.  I hate to complain, but my associates and I have been so busy," she says.

It's not really a complaint.  Cole loves taking newel posts and turning them into lamps or moving a door 90 degrees and turning it into a table.  Windows become decorative mirrors, ceiling tiles become art, and many antique objects can be turned into floral containers with a little imagination, a terrific sense of style and a bit of humor.

The great thing is that objects start out as trash and become treasures without a big price tag. "I'm not out of anyone's price range," she says.  "If someone wants to come in and try infusing something a little different into their home, it's not a big financial commitment."
