FMTF Attends J. Parsons Ribbon Cutting
Jodi Cole and Nancy Viola of Flea Market To Fabulous attended the Springfield Chamber of Commerce' Ribbon Cutting ceremonies for Springfield's newest and most talked about retail department store, J. Parson's.
The event, held Wed., Nov. 16 at the new store in the Parkway Point shopping center in Springfield, Ill., offered a chance to preview its collection of unique and intriguing merchandise. According to the store's Facebook page, not only can you get your "big city fix," but also, "indulge in other inspiration antiquities."
The 30,000 square foot store offers something for everyone with men's women's and children's fashions, home decor, gourmet foods and housewares. The clothing inventory will feature fashions by top designers, many of which are not currently available in the Springfield area, as well as designs tailored specifically to the J. Parsons brand," says Toni Gauen in the most recent issue of Home and Lifestyle Magazine. "Another exciting feature of the store are the J. Parsons Signature pieces. These pieces are carefully selected antiques and collectibles of the highest quality. Each item is presented in a custom display case featuring plaque detailing the item's history. From a 1909 Harley Davidson to Elvis Presley's own sunglasses, there will surely be something for everyone," he says.

Flea Market To Fabulous is thrilled to play a hand in the design of the new store, which Owner Jeffrey Parsons says he hopes will generate alot of excitement in the community. "J. Parsons purchased over 35 pieces from Flea Market To Fabulous--many custom painted to reflect the J. Parson's flair for style and all things fabulous," says FMTF Owner Jodi Cole. "We could not be more pleased to be part of such a wonderful new shopping experience here in Springfield."

The store, located at 3425 Freedom Dr., opens to the public Thurs., Nov. 25.

FMTF Attends 2011 Festival of Trees Gala

Jodi Cole, owner of Flea Market To Fabulous, (pictured right) attended the 2011 Festival of Trees Gala on Sat., Nov 12 at the Orr Building on the State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Ill.

The Gala is a black tie event for sponsors, designers and other special guests to preview the Festival before it opens to the public.

After a stroll through this year's collection, guests were treated to a festive cuisine and danced the night away to one of the area's favorite bands.

The Festival is sponsored each year by Memorial Medical Center to raise funds for projects that improve the quality of healthcare available to residents throughout Central Illinois. Since its inception, the event has raised over $2.7 million. Flea Market To Fabulous donated to the auction portion of the event. "We added a touch of fabulous to the Festival of Trees with a hand painted table, chair, bulletin board, clothes rack and wooden flower," Cole said.

The Festival of Trees first began in 1990 and has since grown to a nine-day event featuring more than 150 trees, swags and wreaths decorated with exquisite care by area designers; an elaborate hand-crafted Gingerbread Village; the Candy Cane Express train; the Little Elves' Workshop; Santa's House; a Holiday Market full of unique gift items; a Gingerbread Cookie Bakery; and a live entertainment area featuring dozens of musical performances. Each year, the Festival adopts a different holiday theme, challenging designers to create original displays and offering something new for visitors. This year's theme is "All That Glitters".

The Festival this year runs Nov. 20-28.
